Policies & Requirements
At The Pawfect Friend, we prioritize safety, comfort, and fairness for all dogs and owners.
Vaccine Requirements
For Daycare & Boarding (All Required):
Rabies, Bordetella, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
For Grooming, Dog Walking & Dog Training:
Rabies required
For Bordetella and DHPP:
Required unless the dog is too young, too old, or medically exempt
In these cases, a Liability & Acknowledgment Form must be signed Proof of vaccination must be submitted prior to your dog’s first visit and kept current thereafter.

Daycare & Boarding Evaluation Requirement
To maintain a safe and positive environment for all dogs:
All dogs must complete a behavior evaluation before attending daycare or boarding.
Dogs showing aggressive behavior, aggressive intent (lunging, snapping, charging), or severe anxiety that may lead to self-harm cannot be accepted for group play.
We may recommend professional training before re-evaluation.
After completing training, dogs may return for a new evaluation.
Behavior & Strike Policy
Once a dog passes the evaluation:
Dogs will operate under a 3-strike system for incidents, including but not limited to:
Aggressive intent
Fights or attempted fights
Repeated unsafe or disruptive behavior
After 3 strikes, dogs will be removed from daycare/boarding services and are required to complete professional training before returning.
After training is completed, dogs may schedule a re-evaluation to determine if they can safely rejoin group play.
Serious incidents may result in immediate suspension, regardless of strike count.
Alteration Requirement
Dogs older than 6 months must be spayed or neutered to attend daycare or boarding.
Unaltered dogs over 6 months old may only attend if the owner signs a Liability & Acknowledgment Form, confirming understanding of risks and limitations.
Dogs exhibiting hormonally driven behaviors (mounting, marking, dominance, aggression, etc.) may be removed from group play even with a signed form.
Package Policy
All service packages are non-refundable, whether partially used or unused.
Package credits do not expire unless otherwise stated, but cannot be refunded, transferred, or exchanged for cash.
Once a package is purchased, the package is considered activated and not eligible for refunds under any circumstances.
Boarding
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking for all boarding reservations.
Cancellations or reschedules made at least 48 hours before the scheduled drop-off time will receive a full refund or credit toward a future reservation.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time will result in the deposit being forfeited.
Grooming Services
A $20 deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your grooming appointment.
Cancellations or reschedules made at least 48 hours before the appointment time will receive a full refund or credit toward a future appointment.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the appointment will result in the deposit being forfeited.
Grooming Arrival Policy
There is a 30-minute grace period for arrival after your scheduled appointment time.
Arrivals more than 30 minutes late will result in automatic cancellation and the deposit will not be refunded, as this impacts the entire grooming schedule.
Grooming Pickup Policy
There is a 30-minute grace period after you are notified that your dog is ready for pickup.
Pickups later than 30 minutes after notification will be charged a daycare fee based on the time the dog stays with us.
De-Matting Policy
For any de-matting service, the owner must sign a De-Matting Consent Form acknowledging risks such as skin irritation, shorter haircut, and possible discomfort
Additional fees may apply
Heavy matting may require a shave-down for the dog’s safety and comfort.
Dog Training Sessions
A $20 deposit is required at the time of booking for all training sessions.
Cancellations or reschedules made at least 48 hours before the session are free of charge and eligible for a full refund or credit.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session will result in the deposit being forfeited and a $20 cancellation fee may apply.
No-Shows
Failure to show up for any scheduled appointment or reservation without notice will result in the full deposit or session fee being forfeited and may impact future booking privileges.
Pick up and Drop off Policy
Business hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM on weekdays, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM on weekends.
No drop off is allowed before business hours.
Any pickups after closing time are considered late and subject to the following fees.
Up to 30 minutes late: $10 fee
Up to 1 hour late: $20 fee
No late pickups are available beyond 1 hour after closing. Any pet not picked up within this time frame will be boarded overnight, and boarding rates will apply.
